The Lamarck Angelfish is an elegant and peaceful marine angelfish known for its attractive black-and-white body, yellow markings, and graceful swimming behavior. It belongs to the Genicanthus group, which is known for being more reef-friendly than many other angelfish.

Behavior:

Peaceful, active, and generally easygoing with other community reef fish. It spends much of its time swimming in open water and can be kept singly, as a compatible pair, or in a suitable group. Males may become territorial toward other males.

Diet:

Primarily a planktivore. Feed a varied diet including mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, copepods, spirulina, and high-quality marine pellets. Several small feedings throughout the day are recommended.

Size:

Can grow to approximately 9 inches (23 cm) in length.

Reef Safe:

Yes, generally reef safe. Unlike many larger angelfish, Lamarck Angelfish mainly feed on plankton and are generally considered safe with corals and most reef invertebrates.

Best Aquarium:

A mature reef aquarium of at least 100 gallons (380 liters) is recommended, with a larger aquarium preferred for pairs or groups. Provide plenty of open swimming space, live rock, hiding places, and strong, well-oxygenated water movement. A secure lid is recommended.
