Behavior:

Generally peaceful, active, and hardy. It spends much of its time swimming around the aquarium and grazing on algae. It may become territorial toward other rabbitfish or similar-looking fish. Its dorsal spines contain venom, so care should be taken when handling the fish or working inside the aquarium.

Diet:

Primarily herbivorous. Feed a varied diet of marine algae, nori/seaweed, spirulina, algae-based pellets, and other vegetable-based foods. Regular access to algae helps maintain good health and natural coloration.

Size:

Can grow to approximately 9–10 inches (23–25 cm) in length.

Reef Safe:

Generally reef safe. Foxface Rabbitfish are excellent algae grazers and usually leave corals alone. However, an individual fish may occasionally nip at soft or fleshy corals, particularly if food is limited.

Best Aquarium:

A mature marine or reef aquarium of at least 125 gallons (475 liters) is recommended, with a larger aquarium preferred for adult specimens. Provide plenty of open swimming space, live rock for grazing, hiding places, and good water movement.
