Behavior:

Peaceful, shy, and generally non-aggressive. The Firefish Goby spends much of its time hovering above the rockwork and quickly retreats into a hiding place when startled. It is best kept with peaceful tank mates. A secure aquarium lid is important because Firefish are excellent jumpers.

Diet:

Primarily a planktivore. Feed a varied diet of mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, finely chopped frozen marine foods, and high-quality marine pellets. Small meals throughout the day are beneficial.

Size:

Can grow to approximately 3–4 inches (7.5–10 cm) in length.

Reef Safe:

Yes, reef safe. Firefish Gobies are generally safe with corals and reef invertebrates, making them an excellent choice for reef aquariums.

Best Aquarium:

A mature marine or reef aquarium of at least 20 gallons (75 liters) is suitable for a single Firefish. A larger aquarium is recommended for community setups. Provide live rock, caves, and small hiding spaces where the fish can retreat and feel secure.
