The Bicolor Angelfish is a colorful and attractive marine fish, easily recognized by its bright yellow and blue body. It is an active fish that adds beautiful color and personality to a saltwater aquarium. It is best suited for experienced marine aquarists because it can be territorial and may be difficult to keep long-term if not provided with a suitable environment.

Family: Pomacanthidae (Angelfish family)

Scientific Name: Centropyge bicolor

Common Name: Bicolor Angelfish

Behavior:

Active and moderately territorial. It may become aggressive toward other dwarf angelfish or similarly shaped fish, especially in smaller aquariums. Providing plenty of live rock, caves, and hiding places can help reduce stress and aggression.

Diet:

Omnivorous. Its diet should include marine algae, spirulina, high-quality pellets, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other marine foods. Frequent feeding helps maintain good health and coloration.

Size:

Can grow up to approximately 6 inches (15 cm).

Reef Safe:

Not fully reef safe. The Bicolor Angelfish may nip at corals and other sessile invertebrates, so it is better suited to a fish-only or carefully monitored reef aquarium.

Best Aquarium:

A 75-gallon (285-liter) aquarium or larger is recommended for an adult Bicolor Angelfish. A mature aquarium with plenty of live rock, caves, hiding places, and open swimming space is ideal. Good water quality and a varied diet are important for long-term health.
